Dana Stahlman on Queen Rearing

Ian introduced Dana Stahlman who spoke on Queen Rearing with a number of slides and documents that are to be made available on the website. Dana described four techniques for rearing queens; Hole Punch, Miller, Jenter and Doolittle. Differences in scale and complexity for the different methods were explained. The most important consistent need to raise new queens, however, is the requirement for individual mating nucs, with good availability of drones. The informational resources that Dana provided (Issue #28 and Issue #29) are available, as are his weekly “Issues” publications.
